Objet : Invitation to become an
Interested Party of DISCONTOOLS project.
Importance :
Haute
Dear Sir/Madam,
We contact you in
relation to the next phase in the development of the DISCONTOOLS project. For
your convenient reference, we attach an overview of the project as a PowerPoint
presentation.
At a meeting of the
Project Management Board on June 19th, we agreed to establish three
Working Groups (WG) to pursue the objectives of the Work Packages contained in
the DISCONTOOLS project. We attach a copy of the five Work Packages for your
reference.
Work Packages 1 and 5
will be overseen by the Project Management Board and the
Secretariat.
Work Package 2 deals
with Disease Prioritisation. The WG will be chaired by Professor Thomas
Mettenleiter of the Friedrich-Loefflel-Institut and a Vice-Chairman has not yet
been appointed.
Work Package 3 will
deal with Gap Analysis. The WG will be chaired by Dr. Carolin Schumacher with
Dr. Stefano Marangon as the Vice-Chairman.
Work Package 4 will
deal with Technology Evaluation and will be chaired by Dr. Jeremy Salt with Dr.
Elisabeth Erlacher-Vindel as the Vice-Chair.
We anticipate that
the first meetings of the WG will be in late September or early October. Much of
the work of the WG will be conducted by e-mail. The number of physical meetings
will be relatively few as funding is limited
We would like to
invite you to participate in one or more of the groups. Each group should
be composed of a good mix of stakeholders/interested parties representing all
perspectives of the animal health community. Organisations should nominate
representatives of their group. We will limit the groups to 20
participants. If we receive too many nominations, we will select 20
participants who represent a wide range of views within the animal health
community.
Please examine the
Work Packages and consider which group(s) you may wish to become involved
with. In finalising the makeup of each group, we will be mindful of the
need to ensure a wide representation of interests in each
group.
If you are interested
in participating, please send us back the attached “Reply Form” fully
completed. Please indicate your interest by Friday, September 5th
next.
We look forward to
hearing from you.
